1823 On 30 December, John Stoner was born. [1]

1829 On 13 April, Catherine Zook was born. [2]

1845 On July 20, John Stoner married Catherine Zook. [3]

1852 John Stoner was elected to the ministry.

1872 John Stoner was made an elder of the River Brethren Church.

At some time, John Stoner was a Bishop of the River Brethren Church, a position he held until his death. [From an obituary for son David Stoner. Copied from a scrap-book of obituaries at a library in Blair County, Pennsylvania, page 03-22]

1877 On 25 February, Catherine Stoner was buried at Spring Hope Cemetery, Martinsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania. [4]

1889 The burial service for John Stoner was carried out by Reverends Keagy, Bassler, Stern, and Hoover, of the River Brethren Church, to which John had belonged to for some time. He was buried at Spring Hope cemetery.

1889 "On last Friday evening, September 20, as the sun was sinking behind the Western hills, Rev. John Stoner, an old and respected citizen passed over to the great majority." [5] John Stoner died 20 Sep 1889 at son-in-law Samuel Nicodemus' house. [6] John Stoner was buried at Spring Hope Cemetery, Martinsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania. [7]
