Notes for Andrew Kauffman and Magdalene Martin

c 1718 Andrew Kaufmann was born about this time. [1]

1751 Andrew Coffman Jr was taxed in Manor Township, Lancaster County in 1751. [2]

Andrew Kaufmann married Magdalena Martin, daughter of Christian Martin. [3] [4]

1762 Andrew Kauffman Jr and Magdalena, his wife, sold land, on March 10, to John Stoner, miller, all of Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The 200 acre tract had been originally granted, on October 20, 1736, to Andrew Kauffman [father of Andrew Kauffman Jr], now deceased. Patent A8-211 was dated June 30, 1737. Andrew died intestate and left issue Andrew, Christian, Michael, John, Jacob, Isaac, Ann wife of Alexander Stockslegle, Elizabeth wife of Christian Myer, Mary wife of Christian Shank, Barbara wife of Michael Shank, Magdalena wife of John Carral, and Fronia wife of Jacob Whitemore. Two sons, Andrew Jr and Christian were to cast lots to own the estate with equal shares by valuation to all Andrew's children. The land was granted to Andrew Kauffman Jr on 13 June 1761 and widow Elizabeth released her dower. Andrew Kauffman Jr sold the land to John Stoner. [5]

1763 Andrew Kaufman dated his will on January 1, 1763 and died that year. He named executors Andrew Shank and brother Andrew Coffman, Jr. Oldest son Christian inherited the land that Andrew had inherited from father Andreas Kauffman and another son got water rights. Other heirs were not named [6]

1766 John Stoner and wife Barbara, of Hempfield Twp, sold land to Stephen Hornberger, on October 22. They had purchased the land in 1762 from Andrew Kauffman. [7]

1767 Andrew Kauffman, of Manor Twp, and Michael Shank, of Lancaster Twp, Lancaster county, executors of the estate of Andrew Kauffman, late of Manor Twp, sold land, on August 6, to Stephen Hornberger, innkeeper of Hempfield Twp. Andrew, deceased, had purchased 200 acres on June 13, 1761 [8] and part was sold to Stephen Hornberger. [9]

1768 Michael Shank, of Lancaster Twp, and Andrew Koffman Jr, of Manor Twp, Lancaster County, the executors of the last will and testament of Andrew Kauffman, deceased, deeded 100 acres from the estate to the eldest son Christian on October 31, for the cost of 600 pounds [10]
