Ulrich arrived on the ship "Brothers" in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 30, 1754 with a group of Mennonites from the Pfalz, Ibersheim area. He had land in Manor Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (April 10, 1767) and in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (1771 to 1779).
