Notes for Abraham Herr and Anna Miller

We are researching the parents of Elizabeth Herr, spouse of John Stoner. We suspect that daughter Elizabeth Stoner, named in the 1783 will of this Abraham Herr, was the spouse of John Stoner.

1700 Abraham Herr was born on June 25. [1]

Anna Miller has been named as the spouse of Abraham Herr. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Abraham Herr married, second, Frances Fanny Martin. [6]

1737 Abraham Heer warranted 424 acres in Conestoga Manor, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on November 2. [7] [8] Abraham was granted a patent for the land, dated April 22, 1751. 1754 Abram Hair was taxed for one lot in Lancaster Borough. [13]

1756 Abraham Heer Senior and wife Anna Herr of Lancaster County sold land to son Abraham Herr Junior, on January 30. The 600 acre tract of land on the north west side of Conestoga Creek in Conestoga Manor had been patented on November 30, 1717 to Abraham Herr, deceased, father of Abraham Herr Senior. [14] When Abraham Herr died, the land descended to Abraham (senior) Hare, Rudy Hare, Christian Hare, John Hare, Barbara Hare, and Elisabeth Hare, the sons and daughters of Abraham Herr. On 18 May 1735, the other heirs: Rudy Hare, Christian Hare, John Hare, David Martin and wife Barbara, and Jacob Batzel and wife Elisabeth sold their shares for 295 acres of the tract to Abraham Senior. Abraham Senior sold 246 acres of the land to Abraham Junior for 700 pounds lawful money. [15] [16]

1762 Abraham Steiner, blacksmith, and wife Salome of Bethlehem Twp, Northampton County, Pennsylvania sold 200 acres of land in Manor Twp, Lancaster County to Abraham Hare, on May 8. The land had been warranted to Michael and Catherine Baughman on February 20, 1738 and sold to Abraham's father, Abraham Stoner, blacksmith of Lancaster County. Abraham Senior died intestate at the time of the deed (apparently 1738) and was an alien at the time of the grant, and eldest son Abraham (of Northampton) inherited the land [17] [18]

1771 Abraham Hear was taxed in Manor Twp, Lancaster County for 150 acres, 4 horses and 6 cattle. Abra. Hear Ju'r, was taxed for 100 acres, 2 horses, and 3 cattle. [19]

1772 Abraham Herr was taxed in Manor Twp, Lancaster County, one was for 100 acres, 2 horses and 2 cattle. [20]

1773 Abraham Herr was taxed in Manor Twp, Lancaster County for 100 acres, 2 horses and 2 cattle. [21]

1779 There were 3 listings for Abr'm Hare [Herr] on the tax list of Manor Twp, Lancaster County with 10, 25 (Sen'r), and 100 (Sen'r) acres. There was 1 listing for Abram Hare with 170 acres. [22]

1782 There were 2 listings for Abraham Hare [Herr] on the tax list of Manor Twp, Lancaster County with 25 (Sen'r, m.) and 100 acres. Christ and John Hare, sons of old Abr were also listd. [23]

1783 The will of Abraham Hare was written on August 5, 1783 and was probated on September 15, 1785 in Manor Twp, Lancaster County. The will name wife Anely; sons Abraham, John, and Christian; grand daughter Elizabeth Moyers; daughters Mary Long, Barbara Myers, Elizabeth Stoner, Magdalane Frisk, and Christiana Huffman; son-in-law Ulrich Ashleman (spouse of daughter Frena). Wife was not to be included in the division of the estate. Son Abraham and Christian Stouffer of Manor Twp were named executors. Witnessed by John Witmer, Christian Kauffman, and Caleb Johnson. [24]

1785 Abraham Herr died on September 5. [25]

1803 Feronica Herr dated her will on July 5, 1803 with probate date December 13, 1805 in Lancaster Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Children Christian, Ann, Magdalena wife of Jacob Smith and Feronica wife of Henry Kauffman. Executor Christian Herr. [26] [27]
