1836 Rachel Ritner, niece of the governor, and George W. B. Stay, both of Mechanicsburg, were married on August 23, by Rev. Simon Dresbach. [1] [2]

Rachel Ritner Stoey, wife of George W.B. Stoey, was named as a daughter of John D Ritner and niece of ex-governor Ritner. [3]

1840 George Stowye (age 20-30) lived in North Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania with wife and 1 child. The adjacent listing was for John Ritner (age 60-70), perhaps the father of wife Rachel. [4]

1850 Rachel Stoy (age 30, born in Pennsylvania) lived in North Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in a household with George W Stoy (age 37), John R Stoy (age 11), Catherine Stoy (age 9), Washington W Stoy (age 7), and William W Stoy (age 3). [5]

1880 Rachel Stoey (age 61, born in Pennsylvania, married), wife, lived in Middlesex Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in a household with George W. B. Stoey (age 68). Rachel Stoey's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. George was a farmer. [6]

1898 Rachel Ritner Stoey died in 1898 and was buried at Harrisburg Cemetery Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The grave inscription records "George W. B. Stoey, 1813-1897, his wife, Rachel Ritner, 1820-1898". [7]

1929 Washington Lee Stoey, son of Geo W B Stoey and Rachel Rittner, spouse of Jennie Stoey, died on March 16, 1929, at age 86, in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Washington Lee Stoey was born on December 22, 1843, in Pennsylvania. (Death certificate: 34547). [8]

1928 John R Stoey, son of George W Stoey and Rachael Ritner, died on February 15, 1928, at age 88, in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. John R Stoey was born on February 18, 1839, in Pennsylvania. (Death certificate: 16777). [9]

1936 Clara E Rodgers, daughter of George W Stoey and Rachel Ritner, spouse of Finley Rodgers, died on January 25, 1936, at age 84, in Mechanicsburg Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Clara E Rodgers was born on May 15, 1851, in Cumberland County. (Death certificate: 6337). [10]

1950 Oliver Paul Stoey, son of George Washington Story and Rachael Ritner, died on February 6, 1950, at age 93, in Newville Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Oliver Paul Stoey was born on March 7, 1856, in Comb, County, Pennsylvania. (Death certificate: 11534). [11]

A biosketch of son Oliver reports [12] [13]:

Oliver P. Stoey was born in 1856 in Cumberland County, the son of George W. and Rachael (Ritner) Stoey. He attended the common schools and then read medicine with Dr. Hiram McGovran in Harrisburg. After the usual course of lectures he was graduated M. D. in 1881 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Stoey located at once at Roxbury and remained here in active work for about thirty years. He then removed to Newville, Cumberland County, where he has since been in practice. He married in 1879, Anna Long of Cumberland County.
