1773 Christian Sherk, son of Joseph Sherk and Susanna Strickler, was born on June 16, 1773. [1], or in 1763 [2]. [3]
Christian Sherk was a "prosperous Mennonite farmer in West Hempfield Twp where he owned several tracts, including his father's homestead on Kinderhook Rd." [4]
1807 Christian Sherk married Magdalena Rohrer, daughter of David Rohrer and Mary Sherch. [5] [6]
1832 Christian Sherk and his wife, Magdalena, daughter of David Rohrer of West Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was named in the settlement of the estate of David Rohrer. [7]
1842 Martha Rohrer Sherk died on April 25 and was buried at Sherk Cemetery, Columbia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Martha Rohrer Sherk was born in 1791. [8] [9]
1845 Many of the descendants of Christian Shereck and his wife Magdalena Shereck, daughter of Mary Sherk Rohrer were named in the estate settlement of Mary Sherk Rohrer's brother, Jacob Sherk, the younger, of Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The descendants were John Shereck, Joseph Shereck, Christian Sherrick, Jonas Mumma and wife Catherine, Mary Sherek, Samuel Schlot and wife Anna (Nancy), Joseph Nissley and wife Magdalena, and Elizabeth Shereck. 1847 Christian Sherk of West Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania dated his will on August 17. The will mentioned nine children and named sons John, Joseph, and Christian, single daughter Maria, son-in-law Samuel Slote married to daughter Anna, deceased daughter Susanna and her two children, and son-in-law Jonas Mumma. 1847 Christian Sherk died on October 25. [18] [19]
Both Christian Sherk and Magdalena Rohrer Sherk were buried at Sherk Cemetery, West Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [20]
