1865 Jacob Brenizer was taxed for furniture in Davis, Illinois.

1880 Jacob Brenizer (age 54, born in Pennsylvania, United States, married), lived in Davis, Stephenson County, Illinois, in a household with Sarah Brenizer (age 51), Ora Brenizer (age 19), Mary Brenizer (age 15), and Herbet Brenizer (age 6). Jacob Brenizer's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. Jacob Brenizer was a house carpenter. [1]

1899 Herbert Earl Brenizer and Ihez Mae Dutton were married on May 10 in Marinette County, Wisconsin. Herbert Earl Brenizer, child of Jacob K. Brenizer and Sarah Brewster, was born in Davis, Ill. Ihez Mae Dutton, child of Carlyle J. Dutton and Emma Finkle, was born in Neilsville, Wis. [2]

1899 Jacob Knisley Brenizer died on February 13 and was buried at Davis Cemetery, Davis, Stephenson County, Illinois. [3] An obituary for Jacob Brenizer reported [4]:

Jacob K. Brenizer was born November 6, 1825 in Mechanicsburg, Penn. Died in Davis, Ill., Feb. 13,1899, aged 78 yrs, 3 mo., and 7 days.

He was the son of John and Catharine Brenizer and one of thirteen children, nine of whom are still living.

When a boy he removed to Wayne Co. Ohio, with his parents. While at Millbrook, that state, he learned the trade of cabinet maker and carpenter. In 1848 his parents removed to Rock Grove, Ill. making the journey from Ohio by teams. Mr. Brenizer accompanied them as one of the family. He was married to Sarah Brewster in Freeport, Ill., on the 27th of July, 1852. She was formerly a resident of Wayne Co., Ohio, and there they first became acquainted. She removed to Freeport in 1850 and here the friendship was renewed. Five children were born to them, three girls and two boys, all living, as follows: Mrs. Ida Preston Davis, Ill ; Clarence Brenizer, Norwalk, Cal.; Mrs. Ora Gale. Spiker, Neb.; Miss Mary Brenizer, Davis, Ill. and Herbert Brenizer, Tama, la. There are four grand children.

Mr. and Mrs. Brenizer made their residence at Rock Grove immediately after their marriage. Three years later they moved to Bentonsport, la. where they remained two years. In July, 1859, they moved to Davis, Ill., where they have resided ever since.
In 1881 Mr. Brenizer bought a furniture store in Davis, and continued in this business until death. In 1895 he was converted in the Methodist Episcopal church, Davis, and united with this church March 19 of that year, remaining a faithful member until called to the church triumphant.

He was a beloved father and husband, a kind neighbor, a conscientious business man. His place is vacant at home, in the church, in the business life and among his friends. He will be missed, and his memory cherished.
