1756 Martin Hoover was born on November 4, 1756, near New Holland. [1] [2]

1762 Elizabeth Horst was born on September 24. [3]

Martin Hoover married Elizabeth Horst of Groffdale. [4] [5]

1783 Martin Hoover, perhaps this one, was listed in Captain Mc'Callen's Company in the First Battalion of the Lancaster County Militia. [6]

1785 Martin Hoover's father sold 56 acres in Earl Township to Martin, on May 30, 1785. [7]

1810 Martin Huber's will, dated May 1 and proved December 19, 1810 in Earl Twp, Lancaster County, named wife Elizabeth, children Christian, Joseph, Martin, Daniel, Mary, Elizabeth, Susanna, and Veronica. Executors son Christian Huber and (brother-in-law) Joseph Wenger. [8] Joseph Huber Senior was also named as executor. Witnesses John Hoover and Christian Meyer. "I give and bequeath unto my son Martin ... tract ... adjoining John and Joseph Huber and others which I bought from my father containing fifty six acres ... as soon as he shall arrive to the age of nineteen years". "I give ... unto my son Daniel ... two certain lots of land I bought from Daniel Merckley and the other from John Eby containing nineteen acres each ... as soon as he shall arrive to the age of eighteen years". "the mountain land which I bought from Christian Hurst Senr containing" 11.75 acres I give unto my three sons Christian, Joseph, & Martin.

1810 Martin Hoover died on November 20, 1810, near New Holland, Earl Township. [9] [10]

1815 The executors of Martin Huber's will appointed three men to partition Martin's land between two heirs Christian and Joseph, as indicated in his will dated 1 May 1810. The executors were Christian and Joseph Huber and Joseph Winger. [11]

1826 A deed, dated November 1, recorded that the will of Martin Huber, dated May 1, 1810 partitioned Martin's land for heirs Christian and Joseph, as indicated in the 1815 entry above. The deed further indicated mountain land was to be divided among that Martin's three sons Martin, Christian, and Joseph. Daughters (and heirs) Mary, Elizabeth, Susanna, and Veronica were also named. Mary was the wife of Daniel Huber, Elizabeth was wife of Solomon Meyer, and Susanna was wife of Christian Meyer. No husband was named for Veronica. [12] [13]

1853 Elizabeth (Horst) Huber died on March 31. [14] [15]

"Martin Huber was born and raised on the north portion of the original Hans Huber homestead and after marriage purchased a farm due north of the homestead, containing 200 acres from the Joseph Grove (Groff) estate, a descendant of Hans Groff. After his death the farm was divided between his two oldest sons, Christian and Joseph. The greater part of this land is now in the Hoover name." [16]
