John Huber was a Mennonite, farmer and lived near New Holland. John inherited a part of the original tract taken up by Hans Huber on which he resided all his life. He was a highly respected and worthy citizen and was well known in the community as Hunsley Huber. He was a very large fleshy man and was noted for his strength. It is said that his coffin was too large to go through the door of his house and his body was carried out on the porch and placed in the coffin.
