Notes for Jacob Meals and Catharine Varnum

1820 Jacob Males lived in Parker Twp, Butler County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (26 thru 44) and 1 (45 and over); and females: 1 (16 thru 25), 1 (26 thru 44), and 1 (45 and over). [1]

1832 Lydia Meals, daughter of Jacob Meals and Catherine Varnum, was born on July 7, in Pennsylvania. [2]

1839 Jacob Meals died on July 11 at age 56 and was buried at Concord Cemetery, Hooker, Butler County, Pennsylvania. [3]

1839 An obituary reported Jacob Meals Sr died at age 54 in Parker Twp, Butler County. [4] [5]

1839 Letters of administration were issued on August 28, to Philip Varnum for the estate of Jacob Mailes, lately of Parker Twp, Butler County. [6]

1842 Philip Varnum petitioned the Butler County Orphans Court, on April 7, to sell land from the estate of Jacob Meals, who had died intestate leaving five children: William, John, Mary Anne, Lydia, and Enoch. The land was in Parker Twp, adjacent to lands of John Christy, John Campbell, Arch'd Campbell, and Daniel Meals. The land was sold to William Campbell. [7]

1867 The final account of John Meals, administrator of the estate of Enoch V. Meals, was filed by Elizabeth W. Meals, administrator of John Meals, deceased. A payment was made to Catherine Meals, the mother of the decedent, among several payments listed with dates 1863-1867. Elizabeth W Meals affirmed the account. [8]

1870 Catharine Meals (age 67) lived with John D Hoover (age 40) and Lydia Hoover (age 38) in Parker, Butler County, Pennsylvania. [9]

1883 Catharine Meals died on July 11 and was buried at Concord Cemetery, Hooker, Butler County, Pennsylvania. [10]

1911 Lydia Hoover, daughter of Jacob Meals and Catharine Varnum, died on September 21, at Parker, Butler, Pennsylvania. [11]
