1321 Walter Culpeper was executed for defending Leeds Castle against Edward II. [1]

Nov. 3. Leeds. Commitment during pleasure to the king's chaplain, Richard de Potesgrave, of the keeping of all the lands, goods and chattels late of Walter Colpeper, Roger de Coumbe, Richard Prat, Thomas de Chidecroft, Richard de Chidecroft, Robert de Bromere, Roger de Rokayle, Nicholas de Bradefeld, Adam le Wayte, Robert de Cheigny, Richard Brisynge, Simon de Tyerst and William Colyn, which are in the king's hand as forfeit because the said Walter and others were hanged for the felony done by them, so that he answer for the issues thereof in the chamber; commitment also to him during pleasure of the keeping of all the lands, goods and chattels late of Thomas Colpeper, which have been taken into the king's hand because he withdrew cited for certain seditions done to the king, so that he answer for the issues thereof in the chamber. Order to the sheriff of Kent to take the said lands, goods and chattels into the king's hand, if he has not yet done so, and to deliver the same to the said Richard.

Kent. Inq. 25 February, 1 Edward III.
Langelegh and Bokton Monchensy. Two parts of a messuage and carucate of land, and rents, held jointly with Joan his wife, of Agnes, lady of Leybourne, by service of a pair of spurs, or 3d. yearly for all service.
Est Farlegh. A capital messuage, 70a. arable and rents, held in gavelkind of the prior of Christchurch, Canterbury, by service of 20s. yearly, and doing suit at the prior's court of Est Farlegh every three weeks.
West Farlegh. 5s. rent and 2 hens held in gavelkind of the said prior by the aforesaid service.
Eldynge. A rent of a cock and 13 hens held in gavelkind of Hugh Daudele without any service.
Mallynge. A messuage held in gavelkind of William Large by service of 2d. yearly.
Brenchesle. Tenements called Marescales, including a messuage and lands (extent given), held in gavelkind of Sir Hugh de Audele, as of the honour of Thonebregge by service of rendering 8 1/2 hogs, of the price of 15s., at All Saints' Day every year at the larder of the said Hugh, and of William de Ore, knight, by service of 5s. 9d. a year; 18a. arable acquired by him from Maud Salamon, held in gavelkind of Geoffrey atte Holedene by service of 5s. yearly; and 9a. arable similarly held of Richard de Sheyselle by service of 4d. yearly.
Est Pecham. A messuage, 27a. arable and 2a. meadow, held in gavelkind of John de la Chekere, as of his manor of Adynton, by service of 1d. yearly for all service, and by rendering 7s. yearly to the lord of Cosinton.
Shybourne. A yearly rent of 26s., a cock and 3 hens, held jointly with Joan his wife in free fee of Roger Bavent without any service.
He died in the time of the late king.
Thomas his son, aged 20 years and more, is his next heir of the free fee; and the said Thomas with his brothers Geoffrey, aged 10 years, and John, aged 9 years, are his heirs of the tenements held in gavelkind.
