c 1724 Anna Landis, daughter of Jacob Landis of Lampeter Township married Christian Musser about this time. We seek documentation of the time and place of this marriage. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]

1727 Christian Moser arrived in Philadelphia on September 30, 1727 on the ship Molley in a sickly state with his two brothers Hans and Yost. [12] [13] [14] [15] [16]

The land had been granted by William Penn to George Shore, who granted it to Amos Strettle [Shettell] of Dublin, and it was eventually granted to Thomas Hatton who sold it to George Snavely. Adjacent land was owned by John Heer, Christian Mozer, John Funk, Henry Carpenter, and John Bowman. The deed was dated May 1. [18]

1758 A deed recorded that the heirs of Christian Musser, (late yeoman of Lancaster County, deceased, who died intestate), settled the estate with eldest son Peter Musser. The other named heirs were Anna Musser, widow and relict of Christian Musser; John Musser, son of Christian; and Magdalena Musser, Anna Musser, and Pavey Musser, daughters of Christian. Another listing named Anna Musser the widow, John Musser, Magdalena Musser, Anna Musser the daughter, and Pavey Musser. Another listing named Peter, who paid the other heirs for ownership of a tract in Strasburg Twp, Lancaster County, adjacent to land of George Snevelly, John Funk, containing 233 acres. The tract was "in the line of Henry Hovers land". Signed by Pavey Musser (mark B), Magdalena Musser (mark M), Anna Musser (mark +) widow, Anna Musser (mark x), and John Musser. Dated February 15. Witnessed by Henry Dingi, Martin Hober, and David Haut. [22]

Anna Landis married, second, Henry Tinkey. [24]

1759 Sons Peter Mosser (133 acres) and John Mosser (100 acres) were taxed in Strasburg Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [25] [26] [27]

Daughter Magdalena Musser married Martin Hoover sometime between February 15, 1758 and April 4, 1760 [dates on deeds].

1760 Theodorus Buckwalter of Lancaster County and wife Barbara, late Barbara Landus one of the daughters and Heirs at Law of Jacob Landus late of Strasburgh Township, sold their part of Jacob's estate to Benjamin Landis. Dated April 4. The land had been granted to Jacob Landus on March 13-14, 1722. Jacob Landis died intestate with issue Benjamin Landis, Barbara the wife of Theodorus Buckwalter and Anna (deceased) the wife of Henry Tinckey. [28]

1760 Peter Musser and his wife Frena, John Musser and his wife Christina, Martin Hoover and his wife Magdalena, John Wade and his wife Anna, and Barbara Musser (sons and daughters of Christian Musser and his wife Anna) and which said Anna the wife of Christian Musser was one of the daughters and heirs of Jacob Landis, late of Lancaster County, deeded their part of the estate to Benjamin Landis. Jacob Landis had died intestate with issue Benjamin Landis, Barbara the wife of Theodorus Buckwalter and Anna Tinckey (deceased), late the wife of Christian Musser, deceased. On the decease of Jacob Landis, Christian Musser became entitled to one fourth equal share of the estate. When Christian Musser died, that share descended to his heirs, who are the first parties to this deed. Dated April 4 [date assumed to be the same as the prior deed]. Recorded 1795. [29]

Research Notes:

We are researching Christian Moser, whose heirs, including Magdalena spouse of Martin Hoover, were parties to Lancaster deed WW-126, dated 1760. The land records cited above suggest that Christian Moser had ownership of the land by 1731. Other researchers have linked Christian to Christian Moser, born in 1705 in Germany and immigrating to America in 1727. We seek further evidence to clarify this potential relationship. Mombert lists Christian Moser as arriving in Lancaster County in 1720, without citing documentation. I have not found him listed in the early tax lists (1719-1726) of Lancaster County. [30]

1720 Christian Mosser settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [31]
