1831 Henry Rohrer was born on March 16 in Stark County, Ohio. [1] [2]

1850 Joseph Rohrer (age 47, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Plain Twp, Stark County, Ohio, in a household with Mary Rohrer (age 50), Joseph Rohrer (age 20), Henry Rohrer (age 18), Martha Rohrer (age 17), Samuel Rohrer (age 15), Mary Rohrer (age 13), Susan Rohrer (age 11), Anna Rohrer (age 9), and John Rohrer (age 8). Joseph Rohrer was a farmer. [3] [4]

1855 Land of Henry Rohrer was shown in Canton Twp, Canton County, Ohio, halfway between the towns of Canton and Osnaburg just south of the O&P railroad. Land of H Rohrer was shown on the southern border of Plain Twp, near the crossing of the Canton-Plain Twp lines by the railroad. [5]

c 1856 Henry Rohrer and Elizabeth Huntsberger were married.

1857 David H. Rohrer, son of David H Rohrer and Elizabeth Huntsberger, was born on June 10 in Elkhart County, Indiana. [6]

1857 Henry Rohrer died on October 18, at age 26y 7m 2d, and was buried at Yellow Creek Cemetery, Elkhart County, Indiana. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

1860 Elizabeth Rohrer (age 25, born in Ohio), widow, lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana, in a household with Joseph Rohrer (age 58), Mary Rohrer (age 60), Samuel Rohrer (age 25), John Rohrer (age 18), Anna Rohrer (age 19), and David Rohrer (age 3). [13]

1861 Land of Henry Rohrer [deceased?] was shown in section 34 of a landowner map of Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana next to the lot of brother Joseph Rohrer, Jr and the Southwestern post office. [Map] 1861 map of Rohrer lots. [14]

1870 David Rohrer (age 13) worked on the farm of his step-father, Samuel Neterer (age 38) and Elisabeth Neterer (age 36) in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. [15]

1917 Elizabeth Hunsberger Rohrer Neterer (1834-1917), widow of Henry Rohrer was buried on December 15, at Harrison Chapel Cemetery, Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana, near parents-in-law Joseph Rohrer and Mary Forey Rohrer. [16] [17]

A biosketch of son David H. Rohrer reports [18]:

David H Rohrer, clerk in the dry-goods and grocery store of Dietrich & Co., was born in this county June 10, 1857, of German descent. He is the only child of Henry and Elizabeth Huntsberger Rohrer; his mother is now living in Harrison tp and was born in Pennsylvania in 1831; his father died in October, 1857, at the age of 28 years; he was a native of the same State. They came to this county in 185- and settled in Harrison tp where his father died.

Research Notes:

1874 Land of H Rohrer was shown in section 34, Elkhart County, Indiana [19]. Nearby were I Good and J J Rohrer. This is inconsistent with the death date in 1857, so H Rohrer in the atlas might refer to a different person.
