A bit A bout the Government :-)

In December of 1987 Romania got away from its communist system and became a multiple-party democracy. Their first electrions were held in 1992.

Now Romania is a Parlianmentary Republic that adopted its own constitution.

Currently, the most popular parties consist of a groupt called the Democratic Convention, made up of 13 different parties. These parties include the Social Democratic party, the Democratic Party, the Democratic union of Hungarians in Romania, the National Liberal Party, the Romanian Natonal Unity Party, the Socialist Labor Party, the Argarian Deomocratic Party of Romania, Romania Mare Party, and the Civic Alliance party.

The two-chamber Parlaiment is elected by universal vote every four years.

Emil Constantinescu is the President (since 1996).

Voting privliges include privacy and equality for all those 18 years of age and above.
