Background:
This was a final summative project of the grade 10 Computer Science course.
Task:
Using Visual Basic (not .NET), program a game that people would enjoy playing.
Project Overview:
After days of brainstorming sessions, me and Sunny decided to do a "simple" sports trivia game. Yes. Simple it was, taking 50 consectuive non-stop hours of our lives. Instead of coming up with cheesy bland game, we decided to make it look as authentic as possible, with purple-indigo theme and the same interface design. We came up with 63 different sports questions (21 questions for each category --- Easy ($100~1000), Medium ($2000~32000) and Hard ($64000~$1000000). The game featured two of the lifelines --- Phone Help (Involving no actual phone, but rather dialogues) and 50-50. A new lifeline we offered as "Photo" lifeline, where we virtually show the photo version of the answer. If you don't know how Magin Johnson looks like, you basically wasted a lifeline. It also featured authentic Millionaire soundbytes. Criticize programming style all you want, because it's all "brute force" long if-else structure.
