Russia will veto!

President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia was quoted in the French press on Thursday as saying that his country would veto any war resolution by the Security Council.

I had read rumors that Russia and China might abstain rather than veto a new war resolution, leaving the French unprotected against US-British diplomatic, economic, and maybe even military might.
