Man's fundamentally false idea of creation and of himself is to
the effect that God or Creation placed in an imperfect world a
miserable stupid creature which was intended, after a million
years of wars and pain and by means of more and more work,
laboriously to achieve progress whereby the imperfection of the
world was to be ended and a state of bliss finally attained.
