Portugese Colonial with Hindu Allies
vs. Moghuls, 1560
July 1, 1997
This is our first attempt at doing
a large DBR game in 15mm. It is large in AP - 408- and in area - 5' by 9'.
There were three commands and three players on each side. The Portuguese
had a large and small command plus a Hindu ally. The Moghul army was divided
into two equal wing commands and a large center. The terrain was pretty
sparse so as to allow the armies to maneuver: a built up area in the right
sector, a hill about a foot in from the Portuguese seton and 3 feet from
their left board edge. The Moghuls had a palm forest in a similar place.
There were two parallel roads running the length of the board, 1 foot in
from the edge, and a connecting road running by the BUA. The rosters below
show the element names, type and grade, how many in the army and how many
in each command.

The Hindu allies managed to be broken by the Moghul left (?) and the Portugese right spread out as it was got broken by the fast moving LH/Si combo. That took the army to about 43 elements lost, it needed 45 to lose, but the center had lost 3 also and thus ended the Lisbon's first attempt to conquer northern India.
