The two sides hold a conference of war to make their plans. The Italians are our regular Tuesday night group and the French two locals who do not get with us very often--Brad and Bill --plus Ethan, a top DBM gamer, currently a visiting faculty in UK who was visiting his folks in Detroit area over the holidays and Harv Schmidt, an active gamer from a nearby city who wanted to learn more about DBR.

The Italians under command of Charlie "I only know one command and that is CHARGE" Zwinick (far right) study the situation. Charlie commanded the center. The other players (left to right) are Rob Beattie who served as Assistant General on the right, under Lou Oswald who took the front right command. Next is Jeff Herzog who took the unenviable role as commander of the Italian light horse on the steep hills alongside the French column. Lastly, Justin "my god, it's not even our first bound yet and we've already lost" Herzog who attempted to sweep the French rear from his position on the Italian left. Actually a good player for a 13-year old.

The French under the command of Ethan "the human calculator" Zorick (pointing) figure out how to best escape their predicament. Ethan took Charles' center group. The other commanders (left to right) are Brad Northrop who commanded the rear and the baggage; Harv Schmidt who took the lead position including the artillery; and last but not least, Bill Marshall who oversaw the operations of the Swiss Pike.
