It is roughly 4,500 acres large, contains at least ten lakes and has many hiking trails to access remote areas. There is a large Great Blue Heron rookery there, and Kirtlands Warblers have been reported in the area each year. We haven't birded there much yet, as we used to live less than 10 miles from Nayanquing and spent most of our free time there.. I'm really going to miss birding by the bay but look forward to all the new areas to explore up here. :) here's a couple urls if you want to check into the Rec area further: http://www.llbeam.com/parksearch/parks/html/719lls.htm http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/ParkDetail.asp?LinkID=110&sec=camp&ParkID=45 Thanks again Bruce :) 'Woodsong, Enjoying Michigan's Wilderness' http://my.voyager.net/~lilwings/main.html ( \___/ ) ( o\ /o ) ( | .v. | ) \......./ =;;==;;= "I rejoice that there are owls."
