This is my favorite place for Pine Warblers, as there are a lot of them, and many other interesting breeding warblers as well (Mourning, BTGW, Blackburnian, Cerulean, Golden-winged, etc.). If you're in Macomb County, then Port Huron SGA would be closer than Stinchfield Woods, with about the same abundance. Pine Warblers migrate earlier than most warblers, sometimes even earlier than Yellow-rumps (I think there are several March records of migrant Pine Warblers in the state). This is sometimes before most Chipping Sparrows (which also favor pines) arrive. Allen Chartier Managing Editor, Michigan Birds & Natural History 1442 W.
