"It (the Consumer's Power Karn/Weadock Plant) is reached by taking M-25
east from I-75 at Bay City and continuing through Bay City to its east
side.  Continue to the second traffic light east of the M-25/M-15
intersection which is Pine.  Follow Pine (Weadock) north to its end at
the guard hut for the Karn-Weadock Facility."

I would recommend this book as a source for good birding information.  I
have used it several times as a supplement to road maps, and the species
abundance lists are very helpful.

Subject: Karn Plant access

Allen Chartier just posted a message a few days ago
stating that entrance to the Karn Plant would no longer be
restricted to Sunday & Wednesday. Birders will, however,
need to contact someone at the plant previous to the visit
so that security personnel know of it.

Can Allen or somebody post this again as there seems to
be some interest?

PLEASE NOTE:  There is a new policy regarding access to the Consumer's
property.  The previous restriction to just Wednesday & Saturday birding
has been lifted.  As long as birders contact Yvonne Grzegorczyk at
517-895-0480, she will alert the security staff to allow access any day of
the week.  The property south of the main discharge channel can be birded.
This includes the area for the above mentioned birds.
