Arbor Landings (west side of Ann Arbor) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Swift Run pond/marsh is a good place for Great Egrets. An even better place that I think few people know about is what I call the Arbor Landings swamp. It's just west of the Arbor Landings development on the west side of Ann Arbor, between Dexter Road and Jackson Road and just east of Wagner Road. There's a little bit of access to it from within Arbor Landings, but the best overall view is from the sidewalk on the Wagner Road overpass of I-94. Park on a short deadend street named Elizabeth. It's off Wagner just south of Dexter Road. Walk on the overpass sidewalk (walking south). Bushes/trees will be blocking your view of the swamp, but just keep walking. It's not far to an opening where you can see almost the entire swamp. I'm not sure how much even that opening will fill in, though, when the leaves are out. Don't bother looking from your car as you drive on Wagner. You won't be able to see the swamp. Bruce
