From: "Hinshaw, Janet" To: birders@umich.edu Date: Fri, 19 Jun 2009 14:50:44 -0400 Subject: [birders] dead birds! Rick brought to my attention that people have asked if I still want dead birds. Yes please! We gladly take any window or road kills that are still in good shape. That means not rotten (smelly, or with maggots, or chunks missing), or a pancake. Please put in a plastic bag with a piece of paper that has your name, date you found the bird, and exact location you found it. If you can't bring it in right away, please freeze and get to me as soon as you can. Please NO Great Horned Owls or Great Blue Herons or baby robins. Anything else we can take. Please call or e-mail me to make arrangements to drop them off. I can meet people in the parking lot so you don't have to park. We get about 300 birds a year, mostly brought in by the public. Thank you very much!
