The Irish love horses and there are a lot of them all through the country. All the foals are born during a short few weeks in spring. I was lucky enough to be in Ireland during the foaling season and got to see many young horses in the fields. You can't really see in this photo, but this mare has a young foal with her. It's laying in the grass. This picture was taken near Clifden in a region of the country called Conammera. Conammera is famous for it's twelve mountains called the Twelve Pins.
