    Your Account of "Why Europe?" What do you think explains Europe's taking the lead in exploring and colonizing the New world during the 16th and 17th centuries? Why did they begin? Why did they continue? What do you think are the most significant reasons for this dramatic change in Europe's relative position in the world? Are there "internal" reasons – that is explanations that are found only within Europe? Are there any "external" reasons?
    • Due before vacation: You might want to double check the calendar to see if your journals are complete. Make a detailed picture or web of your understanding of this era. Include in your graphic the key or significant events and their relationship to each other.
