SBN--Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale is the gateway to the National Library Service in Italy.  It has an English half of the first page, but linked pages do not offer translations.

The Italian Library Association (Associazione Italiana Bibliteche)  maintains a web page with some English translations and a link to a list of Italian OPACs (in Italian) which appears to include a combined OPAC.  This site also includes a list of Italian serials.

The European University Institute in Florence will lend abroad; a page on their website (in English ) gives costs and contact information.

The website at CERL describes a project to describe libraries in Emilia-Romagna.  These descriptions include addresses and contact information.
