The Seasons of the Clock the Strawberry the Velvety Animals and the Cradle -- 1944

the foggy clock volatilizes
the faces of the earth lose uncertainty
the roads become precise
the jewelry of mollusks sinks

not far from the twin diamonds
there where the path ends
before a blue strawberry
i heard the softness breathing
and the sap bereaving

a forest of light
rocks itself in a forest of darkness
velvety animals
bustle about a wellspring
the wellspring is furious
as strange as it seems

a breath looks for me
like a blind man using a cane
it insists on looking for me
a dark heaviness clothes me
i would like to sleep in an earthen cradle
