Onion Dance

the onions get up from their chairs
and dance as red as if someone were gianting the juice of dwarfs.
the lunar machine blows plumed diamonds
around the mouths of the fruits.
the onions have forgotten to occupy their chairs with vigilant teeth
and the chairs have already been occupied by the tables
who imagine themselves as continents
are continents forbidden or permissible fruit
at the time that the night ends like a charcoal-shoe
a mandolin poppies like a rose.
the table get up from their chairs
and dance as red as if the sky were falling from the sky.
the tables have forgotten to occupy their chairs with vigilant teeth
and lo, the chairs have been reoccupied by the onions.
