International Forestry Resources and Institutions

The program addresses issues related to deforestation and looks at the type and characteristics of institutions associated with sustainableforestry practices. The net result is to help policy makers and forest users design and implement more effective forest policies. The IFRI is made up of a network of collaborating research institutes in North America, Latin America, Asia and Africa. The IFRI utilizes the institutional analysis and development framework which promotes interdisciplinary research and analysis. The IFRI homepage provides an entry point to an extensive bibliography on resource tenure issues, common property and institutional analysis (web.idrc.ca).
