Biography
Amor Menezes is a Ph.D. Candidate and NSERC Fellow in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan (UM) in Ann Arbor. He actively researches Self-Reproducing Systems, studying natural and artificial systems that are capable of producing copies of themselves. The work focuses on novel applications of robotic technology that emphasize aerospace exploration. His other research interests include the fields of cooperative control, intelligent control, artificial intelligence, game theory, and systems biology.
Amor completed his Master of Science in Engineering degree as a Milo E. Oliphant Fellow at UM in 2006. He also graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, on the Dean's Honor's List when he obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction in 2005. He has won several prestigious academic, leadership and technical communication awards. Amor is an avid private pilot and a glider pilot instructor.
