"Analysis of an Issue" Exercise

Using the stases, analyze a current controversial issue.

Once you've decided on an issue, report on the positions of at least six people or institutions. Use at least four "recognizable" sources (as per the definition we generated in class) to gather this information. Organize the positions you've encountered in your investigation according to the hierarchy of the stases. You may have to summarize each person's position so that we can tell at a glance what her or his argument is. It's fine to present this information as a list, as long as the list is organized hierarchically and your audience can tell who said what and which stasis is being argued.

Write a paragraph analyzing the issue based on the data you've collected. Are one or two stases primary for this issue? Why is this question important to the specific controversy you're analyzing?

Submit a properly formatted bibliography with your analysis, using MLA guidelines.
