They sit and suck hash brown tobacco sticks
And order eggs and fries
Doloped with yellow butter balls
As the pale saffron yolk
Engulfed in slimy goo
Is brushed in swirl line patterns
With hard toast bread.
More cigarettes are fired
While piles of grayblue ash
Grow in peppery stipples
Filling finger painted platters
Soaking up leftover liquid protein
And fat congealing bacon grease
More Caffeine accompanies yet another
Cigarette
To top off breakfast
For the final push into
Workday.
