The column headed "Required?" indicates whether the item is required or not. You should be sure to look at those that are Required since, like material in lecture and on the syllabus, they may be covered on exams. Others are only Recommended, which means that I will not ask questions directly based on them, but they may be useful in helping you to understand concepts from readings and/or lectures. Still others are Optional and are just there in case you want to read beyond what is covered in the course.
