Taking 340 Before or After Econ 441, 442:

After taking this course, Econ 340, it is OK later to take Econ 441 and/or Econ 442, even though they cover some of the same material.

It IS also OK to take this course, Econ 340, after (or while) taking Econ 441 and/or 442, although you should expect some duplication in the material covered. This course is not primarily about building and using economic models, while those courses are. Therefore I don't think that having them gives you any great advantage here. On the contrary, you may be at a bit of a disadvantage, since you will be inclined to make questions more complicated than they are intended to be. But if you want to take this course, I won't stop you.

Right now (mid-August) the course is closed and there are many students on the waitlist. I will certainly permit many of them to enrol, perhaps all of them, but I want first to see how many students show up for the first class. So if you wish to take the course, add your name to the waitlist, then come to the first class and listen for instructions.

In addition to announcing them in the first class, I will post instructions for requesting overrides below. Please DO NOT follow these instructions until Wednesday Sep 5, as I may change them.
