Evaluation of Websites:
I found a tremendous amount of information concerning Easter Island history and the presence
of moai on the island nation. This type of information was very comprehensive and extensive on
the websites I found. There are many quality links from pictures of the statues to essays
discussing the various theories for their existence. However, there were few websites devoted to
Easter Island's music and dance practices. In addition to this, websites devoted to Rapa Nui
either did not have much to say about their music and dance traditions or contained only one or
two short paragraphs. Moreover, I found very few dance and music photographs of Easter
Islanders. I discovered some comments regarding several local Rapa Nui musical groups and
artists such as Tomas Tempano, Ben Paoa, and Groupo Kari Kari. However, trying to find their
recordings on the web was a little difficult.
