Welcome to my webpage. I am a doctoral candidate in Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Michigan. I am associated with the Center for Lasers and Plasmas for Advanced Manufacturing, headed by Professor Jyoti Mazumder in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

My interests include understanding the science of laser-material interaction, related process diagnostics and applying the knowledge gained to different manufacturing applications.

As part of my doctoral work, I have developed a new method for laser welding of zinc-coated steel along with an in-process weld quality monitoring sensor. I am currently working on mathematical modeling of this process to explain experimental observations and examine model scalability.

Parallel effort is going on for commercialization of research findings in cooperation with the Michigan Ross School of Business and Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America.
