These nine remarkable Presepio figures were once part of an old Neapolitan Presepio (nativity) in Italy. They had been purchased and displayed over a ten year period, by Dr. Catherine Carroll's brother, Tom Carroll, prior to his death. They were very generously given to our Creche Exhibit in 1997, two months before Dr. Carroll passed away. These figures were definitely a part of a Neapolitan Presepio, but we do not know any other specifics about them.
This photograph of our Neopolitan Presepio shows how we presently and appropriately display the figures with arches and pillars.
We have included this earlier photograph of our Precepio because it shows the individual figures to better advantage.
