Camp camp camp...
Sunday, June 4, 2006

Camp, watch out! I'm back! I pulled the trigger on going back to camp this evening, since I don't know what else to do with myself this summer. I don't feel like racing a whole lot (it's been a busy year so far... maybe I should throttle back on all the early season races), and I certainly don't want to bum around the house all day, so this will be exciting.

I think I have rediscovered my love for cycling, though. I've put in three weeks in a row over 100 miles (granted, not as much as I could be doing, but more than I have been), and I'm really digging it. I feel the same way as I felt once I started hitting 50 mile weeks running over the winter - energized, like this is really my thing. I know I won't get a ton of training in over the summer, but once fall comes, I will be really ready to start building a new cycling base.

Few and far between

This has been a pretty fun week, although also a bit sad. I've been wrapping a lot of things up here, saying goodbye to people and preparing to leave this part of my life behind. It's been kind of weird. I've also done virtually no training, although I'm too unmotivated to care. I'm sure I will want to get going again once I get to camp, but for now, I'm pretty indifferent.

I don't expect I will blog regularly over the summer after today. I will try to update every once in a while during my stay at camp, but that may be tricky. So, for anyone who actually reads this, I hope you have a wonderful summer, and next time I check in will be from the sunny shores of Lake Erie in Conneaut, Ohio!
