Finals Lot
Let me tell you a story about the lot at finals. Because we were the 2nd corps of the night, we got there pretty early and there wasn't much of anyone around, except Spirit warming up in the corner. We unloaded and made our way over to the (nearly empty) lot adjacent to the lot containing everyone's busses and trucks. We picked out a great ensemble zone and started up a snare sub warm-up. It was great - tons of space, easy to hear. There was even a small hill facing us for people to sit on and watch us. Then some guy pulls up in a golf cart to talk to Mikey. Turns out they are opening this lot for parking, and we have to go back into the lot we came from - the lot with all the busses & trucks. By this time, Vanguard and Blue Knights had shown up too, and now we're all packed into one parking lot - four hornlines, four drumlines, and four sets of busses & trucks. Let's just say it was loud. To top it off, the people who parked in that lot had to walk to the stadium - right through our warmup zone. Needless to say, the conditions were not ideal. Yes, I'm bitter about it and I think Foxboro was a terrible host for DCI, but these videos actually came out way better than I expected.
