Stars They are there shining brightly, Leading the way, nightly, Those stars that are far in the heaven above, Those stars that are white as a dove, But who put them there? Who made them shine, Who painted the masterpiece, with so many signs, Those instruments of beauty, awe, and wonder, Infinitely distant, below which everything is under, God made the stars, and saw that it was good, He made the heavens, and the earth, Because only he could, And even when, the peace was ruined, God had another plan in mind, and only One could do it, His only Son, he gave to us, Not a possession, but flesh and blood, There was no alternative, no other who could, Do you think that made it easier, knowing it was for good? So he watched His Son, get beaten and mocked, Degraded and torn, He had to be shocked, For the work of His hands, the humans he had created, Were killing His Son, their fury unabated, Thus we see, the wickedness of our actions, We sin everyday, like an automatic reaction, We forget that the creator, of the universe is watching, We forget that our Friend, is up there crying, We stumble, on our paths to Him, We forget our way, we deliberately walk in sin, And yet there is still His grace, which reaches out to touch us, We can still behold His face, and turn back from our lusts, So what can we do, to ever give back His gift, To even come close, to narrowing the rift? We can become, witnesses for him, To bring light to those, whose lights are dim, Just like those stars, giving light to this Earth, A beacon to others, a sign of mirth, We can show the way, on the path of life, And at the same time learn, how to shine brighter for Christ, You can never become, a perfect being, Without looking to Jesus, have Him do your seeing, Lean not on your own understanding, the proverb states, So lean on God's understanding, and sin will abate, God created those stars, so beautiful and pure, He can create a new being, your wounds He can cure, And so He asks us to be, just one thing each day, 'Are you a star shining, to light the way?'
