A Weary Life

Life wearies me, does it weary you?
It tears me down, makes me doubt truth,
Sometimes it throws curveballs, when you’re looking straight,
And catches you napping, if you take the bait.

Life seems to enrapture you; keep you in the moment,
You live only for pleasure, seek any fulfillment,
Walking days, on a parched desert floor,
That’s what life’s like, when pleasure’s the core.

Life seems to encourage you, to strive for better things,
Some look to be paupers, most look to be kings,
Climbing a mountain, that’s taller than tall,
That’s what life’s like, when ambition’s your all.

Life gives you an opportunity, to make money stick,
You can earn money, ‘til your clock stops its tick,
Gaining the whole world, but losing your soul,
That’s what life’s like, when money’s your goal.

Life gives you an opportunity, to not care about others,
Some find their amusement, by insulting them and their mothers,
Trying to make a rainbow, with brown and black,
That’s what life’s like, when you don’t give others slack

Life can provide you, a spouse in turn,
You look for one forever, for some that’s all they yearn,
Looking for a diamond, when no diamonds exist,
That’s what life’s like, when a spouse is your only priority list,

Life can provide you, the greatest of family and friends,
Some lives for their company, to others they don’t bend,
Putting faith in a rope, breakable and fallible,
That’s what life’s like, when friends are your only audible.

So what is life for, if all these are trite?
Is it worth living, worth putting up a fight?
Should I discard, my ambitions and dreams?
Put aside my family, let friends slip through seams?

If that’s the case, life wouldn’t be worth living,
Without these things, which seem always to be giving,
But how then, can life be made good,
Lovely, pure, respectful, understood?

It starts with the Creator, of life itself,
He created us, by His own hands Himself,
Life has meaning when He’s in your life,
Because life has a purpose, amidst all the strife,

When you realize, what a Savior has done,
For all of us, here under Earth’s sun,
You see what life, is all about?
It’s about spreading, His love without a doubt,

He encompasses you, in His arms every day,
Whenever any part of life, doesn’t go your way,
When you fail Him, fail others and yourself,
He reminds you of His purpose, through that Book on the shelf,

A life not worth living, is one which only lacks,
The love and faith of Jesus, and resilience to Satan’s attacks,
I feel downtrodden, sinful and lost,
But in those life moments, He’s there to point me to the cross,

You and I, have been given so much,
Living in a land of promise, where life is such,
That living today, in this world of ours,
Seems superficial, unfulfilling, and lacking of power,

But God provides you, a better way,
One which, He’ll walk with you every day,
In life, God will be, your pleasure, spouse, and money,
Your ambition, your Friend, make your words like honey,

So God calls you today, to lift your head up,
Realize life’s abundant opportunity, to fill others cups,
And take action to store, treasures above,
So that when He comes, we shall know true love.
