1456 IN BRIEF
King Henry VI again recovers from his recent bout with madness and again eases Richard, Duke of York, out of his role as Lord Protector.  Queen Margaret (Margaret of Anjou) assumes power and works to punish Richard and his supporters.  York supporter Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick (a.k.a. "The Kingmaker") becomes captain of Calais (later to become an important Yorkist base).
