AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST

Self-published comic books, mini-comics and artist's books, and 'zines.
Collecting works from these rich sub-sets of comics is important but difficult, since often the only source for these books is the creator.

Non-American comics.
In any and every language. Needn't be translated into English.

• Fotonovels (Fotonovelas, Photo-romance, Romans Photos)
Comics with photographic images. We welcome submissions from all countries, in any language.

• Edu-comics
Comics with a mission. Examples: Jack Chick's religious tracts, comics encoraging kids to "JUST SAY NO," a comic that describes how to register to vote, a comic that teaches about the history of an organization or country, or expounds on a scientific or biographical theme.

Other niche interests:
Over the next year, we will be exploring different directions for the collection. If you've got a niche collection of comics or books on a comics-related topic and are looking for a place to permanently house it, please tell us about it.
