the library's mission statement

"Our mission is to serve the teaching, learning, and research needs of the University of Michigan arts and engineering communities and, by extension, scholars and members of the public with interest in those fields of study.

Based on the academic needs of the arts and engineering faculty and students, we design services that encourage physical, virtual, and intellectual access to the library's collections. We seek out and train the most knowledgeable and user-oriented staff and use our expertise to develop and sustain research level collections. We strive to promote the innovative and effective use of information resources and technologies."

access:

The library is housed in a beautiful new building on the North Campus. Students and faculty have 24-hour access, and the library is open to the general public from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
