Elena Gueorguiev

Research Associate

I work for Dr. Parent in his Neurodevelopment and Regeneration Laboratory.
I am currently working on a project utilizing transgenic mice with tamoxifen-inducible yellow fluorescent protein expression in nestin-expressing cells. I am studying the effects of cytotoxic injury to the striatum on subventricular zone (SVZ) neurogenesis. I use several methods, including immunohistochemistry, to label and track the migration of proliferating cells. When I'm not in the lab, I enjoy playing and watching sports, thrift shopping, hanging out with family and friends, eating at Qdoba and playing with Isaac...my little pomeranian.
