Synopsis:
Anna Karenina leaves her bureaucratic husband, Alexei Karenin, for an army officer, Count Vronsky, in this romantic tale, set in 1875 Russia.  Ultimately, Anna is alienated from her husband, lover, and child.  Her feelings make her desperate enough to compel her to commit suicide by walking in front of an oncoming train.
