Two Projections of the 74 Knot
The complement of this knot, when embedded in the 3-sphere,
is a hyperbolic manifold, M. So the universal cover of M is hyperbolic 3-space,
and a neighborhood of the knot in the knot-complement lifts to the disjoint
union of horoballs pictured on the link that sent you here. The neighborhood
is topologically a product of a torus and a half-open interval, but in the lift
of M to hyperbolic 3-space, it is a union of horoballs.
