NEW BOOK - THE ATLANTIS BLUEPRINT

Colin Wilson's new book, co-written with Rand Flem-Ath, is now out in both the United States and the United Kingdom - from Delacorte Press in the U.S. It continues the work which Wilson began in his 1996 book From Atlantis to the Sphinx. Keep checking back here for more information on it in the very near future!

In the meantime, you can find an excerpt from The Atlantis Blueprint at the Flem-Aths' Web site.

WRITINGS BY COLIN WILSON NOW ADDED!

I now have a section where I will be putting writings by Colin himself, as he gives me permission to do so.  My first offerings are a recent article on Whitehead and postmodernism, as well as postscripts he recently wrote to be included in a Chinese edition of The Outsider. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Colin Wilson page. Colin Wilson is an English author who has written dozens of books and hundreds of articles on a variety of subjects, particularly (although not limited to) philosophy, crime, literary criticism, fiction, and the occult. What makes his work unique is that there is a single, driving idea behind all of his work in every field: namely, the concept of the "Outsider" and the place of such individuals within the context of these various fields.

My main offerings at the moment are a Wilson bibliography, and a basic biography, as well as an introduction, which is probably the best starting place for those new to Wilson. I now also have a section featuring writings by Colin Wilson himself, news about his current activities, as well as contact information on how to write to him.  There is also a discussion forum where people are discussing Wilson's work. I soon hope to have many other things, such as an appraisal of his principal ideas.

The reason I am doing this is chiefly because I believe that Wilson is one of the most interesting thinkers of our age, and also because there is very little about him on the entire Web at present. This page is an attempt to remedy that situation by offering some basic information on the man and his work, and, hopefully, to encourage people to seek out his many books and articles.

In addition to the discussion forum, I also invite anyone who has written longer works relating to Wilson or Wilson-related topics to submit them to me. In the near future I plan to add a page for essays, fiction, etc. from visitors.

This site, like anything on the internet, is a work-in-progress. Keep checking as I have many plans for the future!

If you have any questions about Wilson or his work, or just have comments about this site in general, please e-mail me here. Or, even if you don't have any specific comments, you can always just drop me a note for a friendly chat or more serious discussion, as I have had nothing but positive and stimulating experiences with Wilson readers on the internet.

ATLANTIS
Donovan Leitch, 1969

The continent of Atlantis was an island
which lay before the great flood
in the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean.
So great an area of land, that from her western shores
those beautiful sailors journeyed to the South
and the North Americas with ease,
in their ships with painted sails.

To the East, Africa was a neighbor,
across a short strait of sea miles.
The great Egyptian age is but a remnant
of the Atlantean culture.
The antediluvian kings colonized the world.
All the gods who play in the mythological dramas
In all legends, from all lands, were from fair Atlantis.

Knowing her fate, Atlantis sent out ships
to all corners of the Earth.
On board were The Twelve:
the poet, the physician, the farmer, the scientist,
the magician and the other so-called gods of our legends.
Though gods they were -
And as the elders of our time choose to remain blind
Let us rejoice and let us sing and dance and ring in the new

HAIL ATLANTIS!

Here's my personal page - terribly out of date, but it should still give you some idea of who I am.
