Aliens:

James Cameron's Aliens released in 1986 featured a robotic exoskeleton for lifting heavy objects. This "Power Loader" was used to fight off an alien at the end of the movie.

Wallace & Gromit- The Wrong Trousers:

Wallace and Gromit have an adventure with a lower limb exsoskeleton in this 1993 animation. Wallace gives Gromit a pair of mechanical trousers for his birthday, i.e. "Techno Trousers".
